Since Tina Karrbom Gustavsson is leaving IndEk, perhaps it would be a good idea to look for an additional 2ndary advisor for my phd. I talked with Katja briefly over lunch, and as I see it there are a few ways to think about this.
1. FInd someone within the field of Industrial Engineering and Management, who would be interested in my field and open minded in how it can fit into the department.
2. Find someone who is an exptert in the field of parametric design. I personally feel that this has been somewhat lacking over the past years, and I have been keeping such contacts very informal. It could be good for me to get an expert in, of course again it must be an open minded person who would also see the relevence with linking the design approach with the management and communicaiton issues at IndEk. A candidate could be Mark Burry, former Director at Spatial Information Architecture Laboratory, and who also worked with Sagrada Familia for more than 20 years. He is certainly world leading within this field, and he is coming to Stockholm for a lecture at the Architectrural Museum on November 27th.
3. Find someone already tying together ideas on design with communication and production issues. Michael Speaks comes to mind of course. If he would be considered, it is more an issue of keeping in contact, I don´t think there would be so much specific exchange.
Perhaps you could think of other potantiel candidates? No need to rush it I guess.
