AA+Lmet in London 8-10/10

The first trip to london went great, despite some problems in accomodation etc. The students at AA are very energetic, and eager to work. We have launched an intial research into new materials (in particular composites) and the processes involved in developing them as well as implementing them. In this week we had one pin-up (8/10) and one open tutorial (10/10). Most of them are getting started, some students still wants the building brief immediately. We have a special blog for the unit, dip16.net.

On Thursday 9/10 I was at London Met, meeting most of the 7 MA students of the MAS in Digital Design Systems. I presented my thesis (most of them had actually read it), and we had a conversation on digital design systems and parametrics in general. While htey have a varied background, and not too much experience in the field, htere are great hopes for interesting work evolving. The good thing with an MA instead of Diploma (as at the AA) is that they can work more experimentally, since they need not concerns themeselves with passing RIBA part 2.

I was back in Stockholm late Firday night.
